It all started with our TA Cade’s sneaker obsession.  He has over 35 pairs in his collection!

As we’ve been enjoying our spectacular read aloud, The Wild Robot Escapes, we wondered . . . . . What would happen if Cade’s sneakers decided to escape?

The Wild Sneaker Story

One day Cade put his sneakers in his locker and started walking to Mrs. S’s classroom.  When the sneakers saw he was out of sight, they snuck away!

First, they traveled their way to Paris, where they met new sneaker friends.  They wanted to keep traveling, so they did.

They traveled next to NYC, but that’s where they came from, so they left and went to a house in Colorado.  By accident, they walked into the kitty litter box!  So they went straight to the washing machine!  They got cleaned.  They left the house and went to Maine, but they really didn’t like the smell of the salt, so they left for their final trip.

They wanted to go back to NYC where they came from one more time.  They hopped on a car that they thought was going to NYC, but instead it was going to New Hampshire.

So when they got to New Hampshire, they quickly got out and ran into the forest.  Noticing it wasn’t NYC, they started heading to NYC on their own.  They met a not-so-friendly bear, and it tried to eat the shoes!  They tried to talk in the nicest way to the bear, but it sounded like nonsense, so they were just trying everything to get away.

Finally, they got away from the bear.  They were relieved!  They were also disgustingly dirty and ripped by the time they finally got to NYC.  What would Cade think of that?
